ABSTRACT

In recent years, career education has been an important topic for research due to its impact on student's personal development, especially on their decision-making and future employability. The need for present education systems to revamp themselves to suit the needs at different levels from adult education, higher education, schools, and various fields of research. However, there is much to be described in the body of knowledge from the perspective of bibliometric analysis. This article examines the term 'career education from the Web of Science (WoS) database between the years 2018 and 2021. The bibliometric analysis results have indicated the trends of career education as data is scooped up from the Web of Science database. In terms of selective content analysis on highly cited articles, this section will discuss the trends of career education in higher education, in schools, in adult education, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. There will also be some discussions on limitations and challenges in career education and some future suggestions for research. © 2022 by the Author(s).

ABSTRACT

Leveraging computational resources for modern physics education has become increasingly prevalent, especially catalyzed by the COVID-19 pandemic when distance learning is widely implemented. Herein, we report an open-source software for students and instructors to on-demand simulate optical reflection behaviors of one-dimensional photonic crystals (1D-PCs), a model system for understanding light-matter interactions relevant to materials science and optical physics. Specifically, our MATLAB application, ReflectSim, employs an adapted transfer matrix method simulation and can account for the effects of several critical material design parameters, including interfacial roughness and layer geometry, to determine the reflectance spectrum of user-defined 1D-PCs. By packing our codes into a graphical user interface, this software is simple to use and bypass the requirement of any coding experiences from users, which can be widely used as an education tool in high school/undergraduate classrooms and K-12 outreach activities. We believe that ReflectSim provides great potential for assisting students in understanding optical phenomenon in nanostructured layered materials and relevant scientific concepts through enabling more engaging learning experiences.

ABSTRACT

In the post-epidemic era, big data technology has a wide range of applications in public crisis management. Especially for the 'new coronary pneumonia 'epidemic prevention and control, big data technology has shown a wide range of application potential. This paper explores the influence of big data on public crisis management in the post-epidemic era by combing the inherent attributes of big data and the principles of public crisis management in the post-epidemic era, analyzes the existing problems of epidemic prevention and control from the aspect of big data application, and gives suggestions for using big data to carry out epidemic prevention and control, and provides reference for the improvement of public crisis management system in the post-epidemic era. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been confirmed to transmit by contact and respiratory droplets, and possibly by aerosols. Medical staff of oral and maxillofacial surgery departments need close contact with head and face of patients during the diagnosis and treatment, and aerosols may be generated during the operation. The risk of infection exposure is high, and the ward management is facing severe challenges. During the COVID-19 epidemic, the diagnosis and treatment in oral and maxillofacial surgery wards should be carried out reasonably after comprehensive assessment of patient condition. We put forward relevant prevention and control measures during the epidemic from the aspects of patient treatment, ward infection prevention and control, supply management, emergency plan, and training of medical staff, so as to provide references for prevention and control of the epidemic in oral and maxillofacial surgery wards.
